3D printing techniques or addictive manufacturing have revolutionized material science, allowing fabrication of complex design structures with fast and automated processes. This technology covers many different fields of application from artificial organs to consumer electronics, or from aerospace to automotive sectors, allowing the fabrication of innovative components with peculiar characteristics. Materials are chosen and directly build from concept or design into a functional component, however, not all metals and alloys can be easily processed. Herein, new inks and new synthetic approach, especially new hybrid polymers functionalized with metals and alloys and/or polymers combining several different additive-subtractive fabrication methods, will be presented as well as the technical issues and the new challenges that this technology has to face. | ||||
